While I was once a bit skeptical, (at that time they were handiest to be had from some vague netsite--I think within the Netherlands) I took a chance and paid $13 + shipping for two pads. I cherished them. So I sold two more for when the first two wore out, but the first pair are still going robust after two 12 monthss of almost day by way of day use!

TIPS FOR SIMPLE FLAWLESS PEFORMANCE: (1) Use a burr grinder to grind your espresso (whether at dwelling or the store). I already had a "burr" espresso grinder once I received these. I use Pete's Major Dickason's Blend. (3) You do do not need to wet the pads, or to have them dry, both. While they're a tad more straightforward to fill dry, they are easy to fill when moist (i.e. just rinsed out), too. And, in the adventure you occur to overfill them, I just mash the highest down (which appears to push the espresso out of the way) and brush away any excess grinds (if pad is dry) or rinse the closed pad quickly beneath the tap (if pad is wet).
